Redesigning Verity: Elevating Usability for $5T in Asset Management
Situation
Verity powers 350+ investment firms managing $5 trillion in assets, providing a critical platform for hedge funds to make informed, data-driven decisions. But the system was stuck in the past—clunky usability, uninspiring visuals, and rigid workflows were slowing down investment professionals. With users frustrated and expectations evolving, Verity risked losing ground in a high-stakes, competitive industry.
Task
As Lead Designer, I needed to modernize Verity’s core platform—enhancing usability, refining the visual design, and introducing robust customization options. The goal? Streamline complex workflows, improve satisfaction, and ensure flexibility for top-tier financial professionals, reinforcing Verity’s reputation as an industry leader.
Action
To transform the platform, I led a user-centered redesign with these key steps:
User Research: Conducted in-depth interviews with investment managers and analysts, using Notion to document pain points, workflow preferences, and key requirements.
Design Process: Partnered with the VP of Product & Engineering, building prototypes in Sketch & InVision, later transitioning to Figma.
Iterative Testing: Ran usability tests via Zoom & UserInterviews.com, refining designs based on real user feedback.
Scalable Design System: Built a comprehensive system using Notion, Zeplin, and Figma, ensuring a consistent, flexible UI for long-term adaptability.
