Double-digit revenue increases followed by acquisition
TL;DR
Situation: Verity’s core product had poor usability, outdated visuals, and limited customization, frustrating investment professionals.
Task: Led a year-long redesign with user interviews, prototyping (Invision, Sketch, Figma), usability testing, and a new design system.
Action: Delivered an intuitive, modern platform with flexible customization for complex financial workflows.
Result: Achieved double-digit revenue growth and facilitated Verity’s acquisition by Resurgens Technology Partners.
Situation
Verity, a leading provider of bespoke research management solutions, serves over 350 investment management companies managing $5 trillion in assets. Their core product is a vital tool for hedge funds to manage investments and make data-driven decisions. However, the platform’s outdated usability, lackluster visual appeal, and limited customization options were causing inefficiencies and frustration among investment professionals, threatening Verity’s ability to meet the evolving needs of its high-stakes clientele.
Task
As the Lead Designer, my task was to redesign Verity’s core platform to enhance usability, modernize its visual design, and introduce robust customization features. The goal was to streamline complex workflows, improve user satisfaction, and ensure the platform could adapt to the unique processes of top-tier financial professionals, reinforcing Verity’s position as an industry leader.
Action
I led a user-centered redesign effort with the following steps:
Research: Conducted in-depth interviews with stakeholders and end-users (investment managers and analysts), using Notion to document pain points, preferences, and requirements, ensuring the redesign addressed real-world needs.
Design Process: Collaborated with the VP of Product and VP of Engineering to create prototypes, starting with Invision and Sketch, then transitioning to Figma. Conducted iterative usability testing via Zoom and Userinterviews.com to refine designs, and developed a scalable design system using Notion, Zeplin, and Figma for consistency and collaboration.
Iteration: Continuously validated design decisions with user feedback, ensuring the solution evolved into an intuitive, flexible, and visually appealing platform tailored to the financial sector.
Result
The redesigned platform launched with improved usability, a modern aesthetic, and powerful customization options, enabling clients to tailor workflows to their specific needs. Post-launch, Verity saw double-digit revenue growth, reflecting strong market approval and enhanced user satisfaction. The redesign’s success contributed to Verity’s acquisition by Resurgens Technology Partners, highlighting the strategic impact of the user-centered approach and the platform’s elevated competitive standing.
